Job Description

About the role

Responsible for managing the administration and execution of purchasing activities. Leading a team of purchasing and procurement officers, the Senior Purchasing Officer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that goods and services are procured to deliver operational requirements.

Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Lead and direct a team of procurement and purchasing officers, manage team performance, leave, absences, training, and development
    • Participate in process development and procedural documentation of all procurement policies, processes, and procedures
    • Identify, prioritise and support (or lead) sourcing activities as assigned
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices
    • Work in collaboration with Strategic Procurement and Supplier Management to maintain strong relationships with suppliers
    • Identify and implement initiatives to improve the procure-to-pay process
    • Ensure team and personal compliance with all company policies/rules and all violations are dealt with accordingly.

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, commerce, law or other profession
  • At least 5 years in experience in warehouse/supply chain or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products: Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, ERP application etc.
