• The Senior Purchasing Coordinator reports to the Purchasing Manager
• Located in Landover, MD

As a Senior Purchasing Coordinator, you will assume a leadership role in procurement operations, leveraging your expertise to manage goods and services with heightened financial commitments and technical intricacies. Working under general direction, you will play a vital role in optimizing inventory, enhancing supplier relations, and executing strategic procurement decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Procurement:
• Lead strategic procurement initiatives, managing goods and services with increased financial commitments and technical complexities.
• Apply advanced analytical and negotiation skills to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.
Inventory Optimization:
• Oversee inventory management to maintain high fill rate accuracy in distribution centers.
• Employ advanced value analysis techniques to minimize Total Cost of Ownership.
Supplier Relationship Management:
• Take a lead role in managing supplier relations, resolving complex issues, and fostering collaborative partnerships.
Decision-Making and Analysis:
• Independently make timely decisions, employing advanced analysis to determine the most appropriate course of action.
• Optimize purchase orders, negotiate terms, manage delivery, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain meticulous records.
Sales Support and Collaboration:
• Provide expert support to the sales team, addressing complex product inquiries, negotiating terms, and facilitating seamless order fulfillment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Compliance and Process Enhancement:
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, contributing to the enhancement of procurement processes.
• Conduct periodic reviews to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency.

COMPETENCIES:
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
• Deep understanding of material flow and requirements planning (MRP), including advanced concepts such as order points, lead-time, and safety stock.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to think strategically, align procurement activities with organizational goals, and contribute to overall business strategy.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with advanced negotiation abilities.
• Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, take initiative, and drive results.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• 2 – 3 years of experience in a senior-level purchasing or procurement role, or equivalent military or practical experience.
• Proficiency in advanced software tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe/Nitro Pro, Explorer, and Infor Distribution SX.
• Ability to tackle complex problems and devise innovative solutions.
• Advanced mathematical skills, including calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

Compensation includes the posted hourly pay range. Additional compensation opportunities, including overtime pay, incentives, or bonuses, may apply where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
