📋 Tasks and responsibilities
Do you enjoy making sure daily procurement activities run efficiently? Do you also bring strong expertise in public procurement to support and improve these activities? In this role, your contribution will be key to ensuring smooth, compliant and timely purchasing processes.
You are responsible for the organization, correct execution of public contracts, and compliance with administrative and budgetary procedures:
- You monitor the terms and deadlines of major contracts and supplier agreements, negotiate with external parties in a professional and ethical manner, and ensure contractual commitments are implemented, managed and renewed on time.
- For each purchase request, you assess risks and opportunities, define the necessary mitigating actions, and provide solution-oriented advice to stakeholders.
- You follow up supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and use these insights to strengthen service quality and supplier relationships.
- You translate functional needs into clear specifications in collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers, then structure those needs into a concrete action plan.
- You manage contract requests from start to finish, planning each phase, monitoring deadlines, and preparing the required documentation and contingency measures to safeguard business continuity.
- You propose improvements to special specifications, share your knowledge with the team, stay informed about developments in your field, proactively maintain the supplier portfolio, and help prevent potential future appeals from bidders.
- You keep track of changes in applicable legislation and ensure procurement activities remain aligned with current rules.
📝Your profile
- You have at least 6 years of experience in at least 2 of the following areas
- Public procurement, especially for supplies and services
- Negotiating with suppliers
- Drafting, finalizing and implementing purchase contracts
- You have a strong understanding of public procurement legislation.
- You bring proven experience in a public-sector environment.
- You recognize the strengths of team members and encourage initiative.
- You are customer-focused and results-oriented.
- You enjoy negotiating and are able to persuade others in a diplomatic way.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You have experience as an expert buyer or buyer manager.
- Languages: Dutch or French, and English.
