In this role, you'll:


Work as part of a collaborative legal team delivering expert regulatory, administrative, government and criminal law services, supporting compliance, enforcement and decision making for the NSW Point to Point Transport Commissioner as part of the Transport for NSW Legal and Governance team.

This role will see you provide high quality legal advice, draft regulatory and court documentation, prepare briefs of evidence, and conduct prosecutions and appeals across the Local Court, District Court and NCAT. You’ll build deep subject matter expertise in transport regulation while developing your advocacy, statutory interpretation and litigation skills within a large, complex government environment.

You will represent, influence and advocate for the NSW Point to Point Transport Commissioner to achieve fair, consistent and legally sound outcomes in a fast paced, high volume regulatory and criminal law setting with significant public interest and community impact.

About you


Your strong legal judgement, advocacy capability and attention to detail, formed across regulatory, criminal, government or administrative law environments, will see you deliver accurate, timely and defensible legal advice, manage complex prosecutions and appeals, and navigate sensitive matters with confidence and integrity to achieve consistent, high quality legal outcomes.

You’re recognised as a professional and ethical legal practitioner, skilled at drafting clear legal instruments and presenting persuasive arguments in court, and experienced in court advocacy, statutory interpretation, legal research and working collaboratively with investigators, policy teams and enforcement stakeholders.


You will also bring tertiary qualifications in Law, and hold a current NSW practising certificate or be eligible to obtain one. You will have 3–5 years post qualification experience, ideally within prosecution, regulatory, criminal, administrative or government legal practice.
