We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Preconstruction Management to join our Data Center (DTC) team. This role leads the end to end proposal process for preconstruction activities across the regional business, ensuring timely, accurate submissions that support Exyte DTC’s strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail oriented, and experienced in managing complex bids within the data center construction industry. They will provide clear leadership throughout the pursuit lifecycle, coordinating internal teams and external partners to deliver compelling, compliant proposals that align with Exyte’s values and standards.

This role works closely with opportunity management, business development, engineering, procurement, estimating, project delivery, and executive leadership to develop customer focused proposals that drive growth. Success requires exceptional project management skills, strong communication, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders in delivering winning solutions.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

Proposal Ownership and Planning

• Own the proposal from the Bid decision through to submission, running each pursuit as a properly planned and resourced project.
• Own and finalise the Proposal Plan: schedule, key milestones, resource and cost planning, deliverable outline and the RFP Adherence Matrix.
• Confirm client requirements against the RFP and translate them into a clear, compliant deliverable structure.Lead the proposal kick-off, communicating the Win Strategy, plan and task allocation to the full proposal team and business partner functions.
• Maintain accurate and timely opportunity data in Salesforce once assigned to the pursuit.

Winning Content and Commercial Strength

• Work with the Pursuit Manager to understand the Win Strategy, client drivers and value proposition, and ensure the proposal reflects them throughout.
• Drive development of the 5 Elements with the proposal team: scope and delivery method, project execution strategy, contract and legal, schedule, and cost.
• Own the proposal narrative, executive summary and key selling points, so the offer is compelling and clearly differentiated.
• Ensure Assumptions, Clarifications and Exclusions (ACE) are captured, consistent and reflected in the submission.
• Maintain and improve reusable content, project references and capability statements to raise quality and speed across pursuits.

Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination

• Direct the Proposal Coordinator on templates, compilation, production and submission of the proposal and presentations.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, planning, project delivery, legal and risk to deliver their elements to plan.
• Coordinate, confirm and integrate the cost estimate produced by the estimating function, owning its consistency with the offer rather than its build-up.
• Align a multidisciplinary team and manage competing inputs into a single, coherent and compliant submission.
• Manage RFIs, clarifications and client responses through the bid period.
• Mentor and develop proposal staff, and raise proposal capability across USA DTC.

Reviews, Risk and Approvals

• Plan and run the required proposal and 5 Elements reviews with the team and function heads.
• Prepare and drive the pursuit through Exyte risk and management approvals, including the Tender Executive Risk Analysis (TERA) and Tender Follow-Up (TFU).
• Ensure the submitted position reflects the approved bottom-line position and any business decision on Profit and Contingency (PaCT) and ACE.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, Exyte policies, branding and document standards throughout.

Submission, Handover and Continuous Improvement

• Own on-time submission and confirm all required deliverables are complete against the Adherence Matrix.
• Update Salesforce to the submitted position within the required timeframe and archive the final proposal correctly.
• Support a clean handover of the winning proposal into project set-up, and support proposal debriefs and win / loss analysis.
• Contribute US content, lessons learned and improvements to the GBU proposal library, templates and standards.

Regional Proposal Function and Team

• Own proposal management for DTC-USA: set the standard, the quality bar and the resourcing of proposals across all US pursuits.
• Apply and uphold Exyte GBU proposal standards and discipline across the region.
• Build, lead and develop the US proposal team, with proposal managers and coordinators reporting into the role.
• Prioritise and allocate proposal effort across concurrent US pursuits.
• Lead major pursuits directly and set the standard for how proposals are run in the region.

Show your expertise

• Education: Bachelor's in Business, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience.
• Prior experience in the construction and/or engineering industry, specifically in the data center industry, is preferred.
• Prior sales leadership experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of preconstruction and construction concepts and principles.
• Ability to perform complex tasks typically following established processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional organization, coordination, alignment, and collaboration skills. Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Business travel as required.
