Job Title: Senior Project Officer, VFNVA Secretariat

Location: Collingwood, VIC (Hybrid Work Model)

Employment Type: Part-time, Maximum-term (until 30 June 2027) (0.6FTE - 3 days per week)

Salary: $60,000 to $72,000 (depending on experience) + super + NFP salary packaging

VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.

We have 35 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. About the role

This is a part-time maximum term contract role, 3 days per week to 30 June 2027.

As the Senior Project Officer, VFNVA Secretariat you will be the vital liaison and provide support to the Victorian First Nations VET Alliance. The Victorian First Nations VET Alliance (VFNVA) is made up of Victoria’s three Aboriginal Community Controlled Registered Training Organisations (ACC-RTOs) which include VACCHO, the Victoria Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd (VACSAL) and Bubup Wilam Aboriginal Child and Family Centre Incorporated.

You will coordinate and support the VFNVA members participation and collaboration ahead of Government Forums, consultations and policy change. You will also support the VFNVA to decide on collective positions and keep the VFNVA members informed of policy change and opportunities to influence policy, programs, funding, legislation and regulation.

Essential skills/experiences

To be successful in this role you are:

• an experienced Secretariate,
• able to gain the trust of members, using your stakeholder relationship and negotiation skills,
• a self-starter and use your initiative to keep things moving along,
• flexible and able to pivot to respond to changing deadlines due to outside influences/circumstances,
• able to shift through large volumes of information (verbal and/or written) to identity/extract key points/messages,
• organised and have a great level of attention to detail, and
• a great communicator, both vernally and in writing.

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply as your cultural and lived experiences are central to the work we do.
