VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.
We have 34 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. About the role
The Senior Project Officer, Advocacy Evidence Translation will support the execution of VACCHO’s advocacy campaigns. VACCHO’s advocacy campaigns include activities that foster awareness and convince people of the need for change. These campaigns aim to build coalitions of supporters and influence decision makers to change policies, legislation and funding outcomes. This role will lead the development of materials to support advocacy campaigns including but not limited to position statements, fact sheets, evidence briefs, written submissions, and other innovative persuasive written materials. The Senior Project Officer will support VACCHO’s executive to be prepared to meet with Members of Parliament, media and representative forums, as well as directly engaging in stakeholder management and meetings. This role will lead and contribute to evidence-based advocacy outputs at VACCHO, including ensuring that evaluation processes support the collection of relevant data and directly drafting written materials. This role will work closely with a range of internal teams to develop solutions for change.
