About the position:

The Senior Project Officer is a key role within KWY, responsible for coordinating and delivering a range of strategic and operational projects across the organisation. This includes leading tender and grant writing processes, contributing to program design and implementation, and supporting quality, system and process development to strengthen KWY’s service delivery and impact.

The Senior Project Officer works collaboratively within a high-performing team that drives innovation, growth, and quality improvement across KWY. The role requires strong administrative, strategic, and technical capabilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with KWY’s values and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate tender and grant submissions, including identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals, and ensuring timely and high-quality submissions
  • Conduct program design, service modelling, and the implementation of new and existing initiatives
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, deliverables, and risk assessments across a variety of internal and external projects
  • Undertake research, policy analysis, and evaluation activities to support evidence-based practice and organisational learning
  • Draft high-quality reports, policy submissions, and briefing documents
  • Support the development and review of organisational policies and procedures
  • Engage with stakeholders and partners through consultation, communication, and collaborative project work
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements, data management, and reporting standards
  • Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement processes
  • Work in a culturally responsive, trauma-informed manner that reflects KWY’s values and commitment to community.

About you:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional with a strong track record in program development, grant and tender writing, and strategic project delivery. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of social justice and culturally responsive practice, with demonstrated experience working alongside Aboriginal communities to support improved outcomes. You will operate within a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, collaborative framework and bring strong skills in research, stakeholder engagement, and the design of evidence-based programs and services.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary $100,776 - $114,980.32 (range dependent on experience and qualifications). Level 5-6 classification under the SCHADS Award.

Job requirements:

  • You must hold a current South Australian Driver's License or a license which permits you to drive in South Australia.
  • Successful candidates will be required to clear and maintain probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), Working with Vulnerable People Check and Working with Children Check (applicants need to hold a current WWCC to apply).

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
