Job Description

The Senior Project Metallurgist is responsible for leading metallurgical aspects of projects at Ravenswood Gold Mine, including plant upgrades, process improvements, and new project development. The role provides technical leadership in metallurgical test work, process design, commissioning, and performance optimisation to ensure project outcomes meet operational, recovery, and cost objectives. The position works closely with project, operations, and technical teams to deliver safe and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide senior metallurgical leadership to feasibility studies, plant upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
• Design and interpret metallurgical test work to support process design, flowsheet development, and equipment selection
• Support project execution, commissioning, and ramp-up of plant modifications and new process circuits
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve recovery, throughput, and operating efficiency
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to deliver sustainable outcomes
• Prepare technical documentation and liaise with external laboratories and consultants
• Ensure compliance with site safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
• Mentor metallurgical staff and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering
• Extensive experience in gold processing and metallurgical project work
• Strong understanding of processing circuits including crushing, milling, leaching, adsorption, elution, and gold recovery
• Experience in metallurgical test work design and interpretation
• Experience in project delivery, commissioning, and plant optimisation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Experience working with external laboratories and consultants
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Current Class C driver’s licence
