The Senior Project Manager plays a critical execution role within Guild Mortgage’s Strategic Initiatives function. Reporting directly to the SVP, Corporate Strategic Initiatives, this role is responsible for driving structured delivery of high-priority, cross-functional initiatives spanning origination, servicing and corporate departments. The Senior Project Manager ensures complex, multi-workstream programs are organized, tracked, and executed with rigor — translating strategic direction into actionable plans, managing stakeholder alignment, and maintaining program momentum across all phases of delivery.

Compensation

This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 annually.

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.

Essential Functions

  • Program & Project Delivery
  • Own end-to-end project management for assigned corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, workback schedules, RACI matrices, risk registers, and status dashboards across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Translate strategic direction from executive sponsors into structured project charters, scope definitions, and milestone frameworks.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate blockers with recommended resolution paths.
  • Manage change control processes; document scope changes and assess downstream impact on timelines and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate effectively across Production, Servicing, Technology, Finance, Compliance, Capital Markets and other business functions to drive alignment and accountability on shared deliverables.
  • Prepare and facilitate working sessions, steering committee updates, and project reviews; author meeting materials, decision logs, and action item trackers.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on initiative status, risks, and decisions through structured, timely communications calibrated to audience level.
  • Partner with SMEs, discovery hires, and technology teams to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and sequence workstreams.
  • Execution Rigor & Reporting
  • Maintain program health dashboards and consolidated reporting across the project portfolio; surface insights on milestone attainment, budget tracking, and resource utilization.
  • Author project documentation including pre- and post-launch communications, adoption playbooks, training coordination, and hand-off plans to long-term owners.
  • Conduct lessons learned retrospectives; produce recommendations reports to capture institutional knowledge and improve future delivery.
  • Support budget and resource tracking in coordination with the SVP and Finance business partners.
  • Mortgage Domain Application
  • Apply working knowledge of mortgage origination and servicing operations to anticipate operational impacts, regulatory dependencies, and change management considerations within project planning.
  • Understand loan officer and branch operations environment well enough to identify how transformation initiatives affect frontline workflows.
  • Navigate compliance-sensitive program environments with appropriate discretion and judgment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum seven years experience in project or program management experience, with at least 3 years in mortgage, financial services, or highly regulated industry.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent preferred. Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma exposure a plus; not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-workstream programs in a regulated environment with competing priorities and tight timelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of mortgage origination and/or servicing operations, including loan processing, underwriting, funding, and key regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear project frameworks, milestones, and decision points.
  • Skilled at managing upward and across senior stakeholders; can communicate program status and risks clearly to executive audiences.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project and task management tools such as JIRA, ClickUp, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in or alongside technology programs, including LOS platforms, servicing systems, or data/AI initiatives preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills; able to author executive updates, project charters, and stakeholder-facing documentation.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed; able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing quality or momentum.
  • Operates with discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive program, personnel, or organizational information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

Supervision

Interaction/Supervision: Works under broad direction with considerable latitude for independent actions; guided by professional standards, desired outcomes and unit/project/program specifications.

Requirements

  • Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.

  • Travel 10-20%.
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
  • This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
  • Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday; occasional night or weekend may be necessary.
