Senior Project Manager & Scrum Master – Clinical AI (m/f/d)

For our client, a renowned pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager & Scrum Master – Clinical AI (m/f/d).

Background

A strategic programme in the pharmaceutical / life sciences sector is leveraging agentic AI and rule-based automation for clinical trial data review. The programme is in active build with a fixed MVP deadline, operates under GxP requirements, and consists of around 50 people across five delivery teams in Basel, the US, and India.

In this dual role, you own delivery execution at programme level while serving as Scrum Master for three delivery teams. You work closely with a Product Manager (vision and prioritisation) and a Solution Architect (technical decisions).

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery plan across multiple parallel teams from current state through MVP and subsequent release
  • Drive PI-level planning, manage cross-team dependencies, and resolve blockers proactivel
  • Maintain the RAID log and enforce scope discipline via structured requirements intak
  • Lead release management, including release calendar, coordination across functions, and post-implementation review
  • Facilitate sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives for three delivery team
  • Remove impediments, shield teams from disruptions, and coach on agile practice
  • Track sprint health (velocity, burndown, blockers) and support POs with backlog refinement and DoD complianc
  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums, PO Sync, and dependency resolution across all five team
  • Manage the Jira ALM structure as single source of truth and ensure consistent Jira hygien
  • Provide transparent status reporting to leadership and manage stakeholder expectations on MVP scop
  • Coordinate with adjacent programmes and platform teams on integration dependencies

Must Haves

  • 7+ years of project management experience in software delivery, including 3+ years across multiple parallel teams
  • Demonstrated Scrum Master experience, active facilitation, effective retrospectives, coaching without directing
  • Pharma / life sciences experience with solid understanding of GxP and inspection readiness
  • Hands-on Jira experience (configuration and administration, not just reporting); Xray test management preferred
  • Experience with scaled agile delivery (SAFe or similar) and pragmatism to adapt the framework
  • Strong risk and dependency management with a bias toward action
  • Experience managing distributed hybrid teams across multiple time zone
  • Fluent English, written and verbal

Nice to have

  • Clinical data management familiarity (CRFs, EDC systems, data queries, data review)
  • Experience with AI/ML product delivery and validating non-deterministic systems
  • GxP validation experience for AI/ML or software systems
