Job Description

Medical & Scientific Affairs
Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Lead strategic, high‑impact projects across Internal Operations to align medical and marketing areas, optimise portfolio processes and deliver projects that advance Novo Nordisk’s mission.

Your new role

As Senior Project Manager you will drive and oversee execution of strategic projects owned by the Internal Operations-Strategic Operations (IO-SO) Medical & Scientific Affairs (MSA) Associate VP (AVP). You will support the AVP in shaping strategic direction for the VP area, ensure medical and marketing alignment across IO‑SO, and deliver excellence across lifecycle and launch‑relevant projects that enable organisational impact.

Day‑to‑day your tasks will include:

  • Proactively identify, prioritise plan and execute strategic projects aligned with organisational capacity and Novo Nordisk priorities; secure endorsement from AVP and Directors.
  • Lead initiation and delivery of large‑scale, complex projects with high internal and external impact, using advanced project planning tools to drive timelines and outcomes.
  • Optimise and align cross‑portfolio processes, identifying improvements and ensuring cross‑functional alignment and project endorsement.
  • Manage GBS PM resources located in Bangalore, India and coordinate project execution across internal stakeholders, ensuring synergies with existing projects and efficient resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder networks (internal and external), anticipate needs, and involve stakeholders to gain commitment and enable decision‑making.
  • Share project results and learnings with relevant stakeholders - from external opinion leaders to senior management and affiliates - while ensuring compliance with external regulations.

Your new department

You will be part of Medical & Scientific Affairs within IO‑SO, working closely with the AVP, Directors and cross‑functional teams across Regions, Affiliates, R&D and HQ. The role requires strong collaboration with GBS, Legal, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, IT and other project teams to deliver strategic priorities. We strive towards a fun working place and good personal development opportunities for each individual.

Your skills & qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should:

  • Hold a Master’s degree (in business or a related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Have 5-8 years’ relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ project management delivering cross‑functional and preferably global projects.
  • Demonstrate advanced project management skills, including use of planning tools, portfolio management, and ability to manage complex, interdependent deliverables.
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills — able to present to senior/executive management and negotiate across divergent priorities.
  • Be highly independent with strong decision‑making capability, able to prioritise and drive initiatives in a complex matrix environment.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English, resilient under pressure, a good team player and demonstrate an agile, can‑do mindset with a preference for speed in deliverables.
