About the role

A great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join a Top Tier Contractor leading the way with M&E Projects in the Australian market. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of all aspects of our construction activities to client requirements.

We have a strong pipeline of projects in this space and this role represents a great chance for you to develop your career across these leading projects in M&E and beyond.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure construction activities on Projects have reliable project controls in place for self-perform works and performance measured to ensure budget is maintained

  • Participate in cost review and ownership of cost to complete forecasting for constructions works including labour, Plant, material, subcontractors and consumables

  • Maintain seamless liaison between Engineering, Quality, and document control between all on and off site project activities

  • Plan and stage construction works, ensure programs are accurately prepared and updated regularly to plan and record actual progress

  • Interface with other management and engineering functions.

  • Ensure sufficient resources (personnel, plant and equipment) are provided on all projects.

  • Liaise directly with clients to maintain high level customer service relationships.

  • Monitor the workload and progress of subordinates to ensure most effective use of resources.

  • Assist in the preparation of tenders as required.

  • Accountable for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace.

  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements.

  • Manage the project fleet on behalf of the Project Director and liaise with our national fleet managers.

About You

  • The Senior Project Manager must possess a recognised trade and/or Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical

  • At least fifteen years experience in the overall management of electrical/mechanical construction on large self-performing Road or Rail projects

  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
