The Senior IT Project Manager leads large-scale, complex, and high‑profile IT projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. This role is a senior contributor to the PMO, supporting continuous improvement of project management frameworks and providing mentorship to junior project managers. Working closely with IT leadership, steering committees, vendors, and key business stakeholders, the Senior IT Project Manager ensures disciplined project execution and alignment with organizational goals.

This is a 12‑month contract position with the potential for extension or transition into a permanent role.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, risks, communications, and resource needs.

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex IT projects, guiding teams through the full project lifecycle.

  • Ensure business requirements are clearly defined, documented, and validated with stakeholders.

  • Manage project change requests and resolve issues or conflicts that may impact timelines or deliverables.

  • Define and communicate project success criteria and key milestones to all involved parties.

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including recommendations for adjustments when required.

  • Lead vendor negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring alignment with organizational policies.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to project team members, promoting accountability and high performance.

  • Monitor and report project progress to senior IT leadership, PMO, sponsors, and steering committees.

  • Conduct project closure activities, including post‑implementation reviews and documentation of lessons learned.

Skills & Experience Requirements

  • University degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • PMP certification with strong knowledge of PMLC and SDLC methodologies.

  • 10+ years of project management experience, including at least 5 years delivering IT solutions.

  • 5+ years of vendor management experience, including contract negotiation and oversight.

  • Advanced proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project).

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills, including senior‑level interactions.

  • Highly organized with strong analytical and documentation skills, able to manage project libraries and deliverables.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence without authority, and drive accountability.

  • Effective in high‑pressure environments, with strong prioritization and crisis‑management capabilities.

  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning, modeling best practices within the PMO.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $99,590.40 to $124,508.80 with a maximum of $149,406.40.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
