Job Description

Senior Project Manager/ Construction Operations Leader

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex construction projects while serving as a strategic partner to clients, project teams, and company leadership. This individual will oversee all aspects of project execution including client relationships, financial performance, scheduling, staffing, risk management, subcontractor coordination, and operational leadership.

The ideal candidate brings deep construction expertise, strong executive presence, and the ability to successfully manage large-scale, high-profile projects in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Project Oversight

  • Build and maintain strong, proactive relationships with clients, architects, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to owners, design teams, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively regarding schedules, contracts, project changes, risks, and overall project performance.
  • Lead project strategy discussions and ensure alignment between client expectations and operational execution.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Oversee all project-related financial management including forecasting, budgeting, cost control, and change management.
  • Lead and manage the Value Engineering process to maximize project value and efficiency.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and execution.
  • Track and manage subcontractor agreements, insurance requirements, and contractual compliance.

Scheduling & Project Execution

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed construction schedules.
  • Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure milestone achievement and successful project delivery.
  • Utilize scheduling and project management tools to monitor progress and mitigate delays.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Analyze workload, staffing levels, and resource allocation to proactively address manpower and operational needs.
  • Support and promote best practices related to staffing, performance management, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture aligned with company values and operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership updates and strategic insights to senior management by summarizing key project information, trends, and risks.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Champion and actively participate in the company's Safety Program.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety awareness, and continuous improvement across all project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Extensive experience managing large, complex, high-risk construction projects and/or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Broad technical expertise across estimating, preconstruction, field operations, project management, and construction finance/accounting.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, complex building structures, and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and influencing skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Procore, scheduling software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $160,000 – $200,000 annually Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and overall market considerations.
