Job Description

BRC is looking to fill the position of Senior Project Manager for Housing Development. Reporting to the Chief Real Estate Development Officer, this individual will further BRC’s efforts to develop housing and facilities for low-income and homeless New Yorkers. They will bring technical expertise and knowledge in several areas – with a key focus on real estate finance and project management. Experience with affordable housing development is essential, with a strong preference for affordable and supportive housing projects in New York City or New York State.

Duties / responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with other members of BRC’s Real Estate Department and other departments, particularly Finance, Programs, and External Affairs.
  • Prepare proformas and other projections to create financially viable construction and permanent operating budgets.
  • Submit applications for Low Income Housing Tax Credits and other capital financing.
  • Communicate and liaise with housing agencies, private lenders, accountants, and other parties.
  • Supervise a team of consultants including development consultants (as appropriate), attorneys, architects, engineers, general contractors, and others – to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Assist with construction loan closings, requisitions, and permanent loan conversions, in participation with project partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hours:

Full-time; 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday 9:30am-6pm
  • Hybrid - 3 days a week at main office in Chelsea

Qualifications:

  • Experience (3+ years preferred) in affordable housing development, real estate finance and analysis, underwriting, project management, or related field.
  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred; relevant graduate degree desirable.
  • High-level Excel proficiency and quantitative aptitude.
  • Strong listening and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
  • A team player who can work both independently and collaboratively.
