Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager Building & Infrastructure Projects (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the management of demanding technical building, infrastructure, laboratory and production-related projects within Group Real Estate Management - Engineering. You will ensure structured preparation, professional management and successful implementation across all project phases. In this key role, you will combine technical understanding, project management expertise and stakeholder orientation in an international and regulated environment.

Your responsibilities:

  • Managing technically oriented building, infrastructure, laboratory and production-related projects as owner’s representative from requirements clarification to handover

  • Compilation and clarification of project requirements from business units, location organisations, transaction management, facility management and strategic real estate requirements in a structured manner

  • Build resilient project set-ups with scope, budget, schedule, roles, responsibilities, decision-making paths, escalation paths, and reporting logic

  • Professionally manage projects through approval, planning, procurement, construction, commissioning support and handover

  • Coordinating and managing architects, specialist planners, engineering service providers, project managers, construction partners, general contractors and technical specialists

  • Ensure costs, deadlines, quality, scope, compliance, technical functionality, sustainability and operator requirements

  • Establish and maintain schedules, budget and forecast structures, risk and opportunity registers as well as change management as central project control instruments

  • Prepare status reports, management updates, steering committee documents as well as decision and escalation templates

  • Ensure orderly mechanical completion, acceptance, claims management, commissioning, documentation and operator handover

  • Further develop standards, methods, templates, quality gates and lessons learned for Building & Infrastructure Projects

Your qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in the field of process engineering, civil engineering, architecture, building technology or a comparable qualification

  • At least ten years of experience in project management of technical projects, ideally in pharmaceutical, R&D, life science, building infrastructure or comparable regulated environments

  • Strong experience as an owner's representative or client-side project manager

  • Very good understanding of approval planning, design & construction, commissioning and handover processes in regulated GxP areas

  • Solid competence in cost, deadline, risk, claim and change management

  • Broad understanding of technical building equipment, infrastructure, user requirements and operability

  • Experience in managing external planners, engineering companies, consultants, construction partners and technical service providers

  • Strong management competence for complex interfaces between business, sites, operating organisations, engineering, facility management, HSE, IT and external project partners

  • Experience in international or matrix-oriented organisations as well as a structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working; combined with the willingness to actively shape the development, professionalisation and further development of GREM-Engineering

  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
