About the Position

The role requires a structured approach to Solutions Design supported with a solid understanding of operating knowledge and/or physical aspects of the Operating Solution, ensuring realistic design of operational solution and alignment of all solution components to ensure it is realistic and implementable within a reasonable timeframe. Close collaboration with automation member and other internal stakeholders would be required to improve the business hit-rate with right automation application to sharpen our proposed business offers.

Accountable

‒ Ensure the efficiency of data analysis and interpretation of customer’s data to recommend suitable storage system(s), material handling equipment (MHE), processes designed and resources which are implementable and achievable

‒ Ensure designed solution meets all internal hurdle rates

‒ Apply latest technology where possible to achieve competitive advantage both on operational & financials

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

‒ Own calculation, layout design, technical response & commercial modelling of the assigned projects

‒ Laise with automation team for possible technology

‒ Establish optimal Solution Concept in alignment with the customers’ needs and VM operating features

‒ Clearly articulate key components of the RFQ/project’s in-&out- scope and present material flow

‒ Simulate resource, MHE, space with layout design, investment and other requirements for RFQ using DSV standard tools

‒ Liaise closely with other stakeholders to ensure all costs are considered and establish competitive commercial modeling

‒ Conduct necessary reviews (technical solution review & deal reviews) for validations/challenges of key cost/risk drivers against the projects’ requirements to drive optimum offerings

‒ Support Commercial/BD team in the development of negotiation strategy, Win Plan and value proposition with supporting assessments and calculations.

‒ Support financial justifications and Business Case process (IA) for business awards to obtain the relevant level of approval.

‒ Provide SD inputs for Implementation handover which includes the solution concept/process converting to CLPA requirement document, remain the consulted for CRs when required.

‒ Effectively deploy Solution Standards, Processes, Tools and Templates aligned to Global/Regional SD Initiatives to enable and support efficiencies in Solutions Design Centre

‒ Work within a Standard Work Framework utilizing global SD tools & standardization to ensure efficient solution design process.

‒ Leverage the usage of high standards for Solutions Design collaterals, including but not limited to proposal documents and templates, operational benchmarking cases for target verticals to support the articulation of the Solutions Design content to ensure company is effectively represented in proposals and engagements.

Experiences and Qualifications Required:

• Education: EU: HBO, University (bachelor, master). Rest of world - Degree in engineering (or equivalent)
• 5+ years of relevant working experience in the logistics and supply chain industry; knowledge of warehouse automation.
• Min 3+ years in warehouse solutions design is a must for Manager’s position.
• Solid and in-depth knowledge in warehouse solution; able to understand and convert the solution demands from users to develop appropriate features in SD Tools.
• Good knowledge & experiences in particular vertical(s) is a must.
• Excellent analytical skills with good commercial and technical understanding of Contract Logistics
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel functions – VBA/VLOOKUP/PivotTable, and PowerPoint, etc.)
• Basic Knowledge about other Microsoft 365 Apps including but not limited VISIO/Stream/Power BI
• Good command in spoken and written English
• Good organization skills. Coaching skill is a plus.
• Self-starter with positive attitude to overcome problems effectively and able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision
• Hands-on approach in place, able to multi-task and work under time pressure
• Strong intercultural competency - able to communicate with all levels of the organization, work as a team in a solid collaboration
