Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing and executing New Generation Services (NGS) projects from early conceptual stages through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and contract closeout. This role provides leadership to high-performing project teams and maintains full accountability for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction in alignment with contract requirements and Mitsubishi Power performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a single large-scale project exceeding $200M or a portfolio of NGS projects, including leadership of project teams.
  • Communicate project health, risks, and status to stakeholders, customers, sponsors, and senior leadership.
  • Capture and document lessons learned and provide summary briefings as required.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and opportunities through detailed contract analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop the project baseline income statement using approved estimates, pricing, and Division of Responsibility (DOR) splits.
  • Provide regular cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Oversee development and execution of integrated project schedules including critical path activities.
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and execution against baseline plans.
  • Support development of recovery plans when project deviations occur.
  • Lead scope expansion initiatives and develop change order technical, pricing, and execution strategies.
  • Direct all phases of assigned projects using established project management methodologies, tools, and quality standards.
  • Manage formal change control across scope, cost, schedule, performance, and configuration.
  • Provide timely performance feedback and support conflict resolution within project teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of project management practices and adoption of new processes.
  • Contribute to proposal development and bid support activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; minimum 11 years of experience managing large power generation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects exceeding $200M in value.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to analyze technical, contractual, and financial information.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills including cost, risk, and performance evaluation.
  • Advanced reasoning and problem-solving capabilities in complex project environments.
  • Proficiency with project management, scheduling, spreadsheet, word processing, and technical documentation software.
