To lead and deliver complex projects, programmes or operational portfolios, ensuring successful outcomes through effective planning, stakeholder management, governance, and performance tracking. The role acts as a subject matter expert, drives continuous improvement, contributes to business growth opportunities, and operates with a high level of autonomy while influencing stakeholders and managing risk.


Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Delivery Ownership

  • Lead delivery of complex projects/programmes aligned to scope, time, cost and quality
  • Ensure adherence to governance, methodologies and best practices

Planning & Execution

  • Define detailed plans including scope, resources, timelines and interdependencies
  • Manage execution across multiple workstreams

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Act as central point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders
  • Manage expectations, resolve issues, and provide strategic insights

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks proactively
  • Manage escalations and implement corrective actions

Financial & Performance Management

  • Manage budgets, track performance and monitor KPIs
  • Ensure profitability, efficiency and delivery outcomes

Governance & Reporting

  • Maintain high-quality reporting across portfolio or project
  • Ensure transparency and alignment with leadership expectations

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive improvements in processes, tools and delivery models
  • Contribute to development of best practices and standards

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Manage and lead delivery teams, with accountability for performance, quality and outcomes
  • Set objectives, conduct performance reviews and drive engagement initiatives
  • Allocate resources and prioritise work to meet business and client objectives

Talent Development

  • Mentor and develop team members, identifying capability gaps and growth opportunities
  • Drive succession planning and support career progression within the team

Operational Team Management

  • Ensure effective team structure, utilisation and productivity
  • Address performance issues and implement improvement actions where needed

Key Experience:

  • 5+ years project management experience, delivering complex projects end-to-end in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with governance/reporting structures and stakeholder alignment.
  • Knowledge of service line or previous experience in HRP, A&T or GEM (asset)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (business/technology/engineering or similar).

Certifications

  • PMP (or equivalent: PRINCE2 / PMI / equivalent advanced PM qualification)

Tools/methods (expected in PM environment)

  • Practical experience using PM tooling (e.g., MS Project / Jira / Confluence)

People leadership qualifications

  • Proven leadership-through-others (managers/senior professionals), talent development and succession planning expectations at this band.
