The Opportunity

Senior Project Manager reports functionally to the Portfolio Director and support the Project Director to lead the execution of projects and ensures that all related activities are performed in accordance with company policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. Supports the organization in process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution.

How you will make an impact

  • Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach and overseeing project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.

  • Defining, jointly with Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans. Ensures that all planning activities (including scope and financial plans, schedules and risk management plans) are performed properly by the assigned project team(s).

  • Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identifying, qualifying, quantifying and managing project risks, and ensuring that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Driving the formal acceptance of the project, ensuring contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.

  • Ensure that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements.

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procures all required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.

  • Support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.

  • Procuring all required services, materials and equipment from external and internal suppliers, including support in negotiations, claims and project changes.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues

  • Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

  • Proven experience managing large EPC projects in the energy or industrial sector.

  • Skilled in navigating complex contractual setups with clients and partners.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple teams. Influential communicator with leadership presence.

  • Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken. French will be considered an added value

  • Financial acumen and commercial awareness.

  • Familiar with risk, schedule, and change management.

  • Proactive mindset with a focus on results and collaboration.

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% (Italy and abroad)

  • PMI Certification will be an added value

The minimum salary for this position in the location specified is as follows:

  • Starting from: 62,200 € gross annual

The final offer will be based on candidate location, skills and qualifications, experience, and aligned with internal pay structures.
