Senior Project Manager – Digital Solutions
Intro
Nilfisk is a global leader in professional cleaning solutions, driven by more than 120 years of innovation, craftsmanship, and customer focus. Our success is built on understanding the needs of thousands of professionals worldwide and delivering the products, services, and digital solutions that power their work every day.
The Role as Senior Project Manager – Nilfisk Digital Solutions
Do you want to take complex digital initiatives from early concept through to global delivery — and shape how an entire project portfolio is run as you do it? We are seeking a senior, hands-on project manager to drive and develop the full project portfolio within Nilfisk Digital Solutions. You thrive when there are many moving parts in motion, and you bring the structure that keeps them aligned.
This position can be based either at our office in Copenhagen, Denmark or Budapest, Hungary, reporting directly to the VP & Head of Autonomous & Digital Solutions, Niklas Forsberg. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders across different applications and geographies. While we use Teams for most meetings, you should expect occasional travel during the year to ensure strong alignment across our global sites and regions.
In this role, you will be the ultimate go-to person with a complete, 360-degree view of our project portfolio — acting not just as an overseer, but as the lead driver of our key initiatives. Your responsibility will span the entire lifecycle: from spearheading early-stage pre-studies and concept definition — where you will build the proposals, define required budgets, and secure team commitments — to leading the hands-on project execution. You will personally drive internal change management and own the Digital Solutions contribution to our regional launches, ensuring our global stakeholders receive a standardized, high-quality implementation experience. You will actively manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful, predictable delivery.
About Nilfisk Digital Solutions
Nilfisk Digital Solutions is a technology entity within Products & Operations. We define and own the digital ecosystem built around our physical products, directly shaping the advanced digital experiences our customers interact with every day. Our cutting-edge portfolio spans IoT connectivity, global fleet management, customer apps, portals, and Machine Learning/AI solutions, which we also leverage internally to optimize development. To ensure our innovations are grounded in reality, we work in close proximity to our customers, translating real-world operational needs directly into digital value.
To deliver this, our team is structured into three specialized areas: Product teams managing strategy and in-house development; Data, AI & Platforms driving underlying stacks and smart capabilities; and Operations & Execution ensuring robust delivery and global rollout.
Operating in a goal-driven, collaborative environment, we use OKRs to bridge the gap between industrial engineering and modern software development with speed and precision. We work in a highly agile setup, embedding Scrum methodologies and UX-first design principles into our daily engineering rhythm. As a team, we are characterized by our holistic understanding of the full value chain, deep curiosity, and a shared passion for taking Nilfisk into the future.
Your Mission
As Senior Project Manager, you will be the lead driver of our digital project portfolio — running our projects hands-on while developing the processes, standards, and execution systems that allow the portfolio to grow with confidence. Your role is not to administer these projects but to drive them, and to put in place the way we run projects as the portfolio expands over time.
You will personally take initiatives from early pre-study and concept definition through to full delivery — building the proposals, estimating the budget and resourcing they require, and securing the commitments to make them real. From there you own the project triangle of scope, quality, time, and cost: establishing the leadership structures and SteerCos, defining roles, running the operating cadence, mitigating risk early, and orchestrating the gate reviews that keep delivery aligned with Nilfisk's structural frameworks and compliance expectations. Maintaining a complete, 360-degree command of every project's status, budget, resourcing, and risk is what gives you the authority to intervene, unblock, and steer — it is the means, not the mission.
Much of your delivery capacity will sit outside your own reporting line. The people doing the work are often spread across the organization, and you will lead these cross-organizational teams through clarity and trust rather than formal authority — building alignment in forums that include Regional Commercial Managers, Directors, and VPs and SVPs at SteerCo level. The regions own and lead the commercial rollout; you own everything that makes it possible — the digital readiness, the change management, the documentation, and the operational support frameworks that carry into every region. As the portfolio proves its value and grows, the function is expected to grow with it, shaped by the business cases you build.
What We Are Looking For
To thrive in this position you must be comfortable building as well as running. You will both deliver projects and develop the system around them, so we are looking for someone who is energised by improving how things are done, not only by executing within an existing structure. A proven track record of scoping, pitching, running, and delivering complex, cross-functional projects into full implementation within a large, global organization is essential — as is the judgement to do it across varying regional needs, operational realities, and diverse cultures.
Leading cross-organizationally — earning trust and driving accountability across teams you don't directly manage — matters as much as your delivery discipline. You hold your own in senior leadership forums, resolve bottlenecks before they escalate, and seamlessly turn ambiguity into concrete, executable plans.
You should feel entirely comfortable operating in a hybrid environment that blends formal corporate stage-gate governance with modern agile engineering practices, including Scrum methodologies and UX-first principles. Because we are a highly goal-driven organization, prior experience working within an OKR framework or similar metrics-based operating models is highly valued. On a technical note, prior exposure to IoT connectivity, data enabled services, customer portals, or digitally enabled product ecosystems will be a major advantage, as will relevant project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile credentials.

If this could be your next career step, please apply no later than 30th of July. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
