Job Description

PSD Energy is seeking a highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure projects across Australia.

The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of major HV and LV electrical infrastructure projects for utility, industrial and mining customers, ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget and to client requirements.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Manager will lead project teams, manage key client and stakeholder relationships, oversee engineering and construction delivery, and drive strong performance across safety, quality, schedule, budget and client satisfaction.

The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in ensuring PSD Energy’s projects are delivered to a high standard, while supporting the development of project engineers, drafters and delivery personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of HV and LV electrical infrastructure projects from planning through to completion
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks and reporting requirements
  • Oversee assigned project engineers, drafters and project staff
  • Lead weekly project meetings with key personnel to review progress, issues and upcoming priorities
  • Manage client relationships and attend client meetings as required
  • Coordinate project planning across office, workshop and site activities
  • Oversee design documentation, drawings, technical deliverables and project records
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client specifications, job plans and PSD Energy requirements
  • Monitor project KPIs including safety, schedule, budget, quality, NCR closure and client satisfaction
  • Support bids and business development activities for electrical infrastructure projects
  • Ensure compliance with PSD Energy’s Quality, WHS and Environmental Management Systems
  • Champion safe work practices and ensure hazards, incidents and corrective actions are managed appropriately
  • Lead by example in promoting a respectful, inclusive and high-performing workplace
  • Mentor and guide project personnel to support capability, accountability and delivery outcomes
  • Provide reasonable out-of-hours support during critical project events such as outages, energisation or incidents

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in the electrical construction industry, ideally across substations, utilities, industrial or mining infrastructure
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or experienced Project Manager delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of HV and LV electrical infrastructure delivery
  • Detailed knowledge of substation design, primary electrical plant, protection relay technology, substation automation and SCADA systems
  • Experience supervising large teams and managing project personnel
  • Strong commercial awareness with proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and project performance
  • Experience working with clients, suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of WHS, quality and environmental compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and industry requirements, including AS 2067, AS 3000, NER and IEC 61850
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills, particularly under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organisational and problem-solving capability
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative
  • Suitable tertiary qualification in engineering, project management or a related discipline
