We are looking to hire an Senior Project Manager immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall business management of large-scale cross-functional projects. This role has overall accountability for the business case and project development, project timeline and holding cross-functional team members accountable for action completion. Identifies interdependencies and ensures the project team balances and understands the impact of cross-functional decisions. Ensures that all key milestones are met and that potential issues are elevated to the appropriate levels and stakeholders for resolution. This role is also jointly responsible for building capability throughout the Engineering network as Functional SME.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defines the list of dependent projects, processes, and decisions that need to be completed to develop a project business case or achieve overall project goals.
  • Resolves and balances conflicting priorities and timelines. Maintains cross-functional view and influences across multiple functional areas, including Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Marketing, Sales, Packaging Development, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and Distribution.
  • Manages project deliverables through effective constructions of timelines, schedules, deliverables and stakeholder management. Communicates project status to all levels of the organization as required along with any changes to original scope and/or commitments.
  • Coordinates the identification and resolution of project risks and issues. Effectively utilizes the project team to drive continuous improvement and facilitate resolution.
  • Develops and directs execution of the change management process and training plans. Application of Startup systems and tools such as “Commissioning/Qualification/Verification” matrix
  • Lead, develop and manage goals and objectives for Senior Project Engineers.
  • Drive building capability throughout Engineering network through the development and deployment of Standards. Processes and/or Systems.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Engineering and/or Business Certification and/or Licenses
  • 8+ years of business experience across multiple disciplines and large-scale project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment under pressure and in sensitive situations.
  • Able to manage and direct Senior Project Engineers to complete overall portfolio goals and objectives
  • Ability to travel and work across multiple disciplines with competing priorities.
  • Previous project management experience and leadership of teams which are diverse and cross-functional is required. Sets direction for others to work toward goals and completion of objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of project subject matter and various functional areas, with ability to tie together interdependencies to achieve the greatest business impact.

Other Skills and Competencies Demonstrated managerial skills, presentation, negotiation and communication skills. Ability to effectively relate and to communicate with all levels of management and employees. Broad understanding of end-to-end business process – Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Marketing, Sales, Packaging Development, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and Distribution Knowledge of project management principles, resource management and change management techniques.

Base Salary: $121,900 - $219,410

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
