In this role, you'll:

Reporting to the Executive Directors of Rail Infrastructure/Bus & Maritime/Major Projects), the Senior Project Manager, you will serve as a high-touch leader, providing strategic and high-level project support to divisional senior management to ensure the division operates efficiently and effectively.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of cross-functional initiatives impacting the group, including safety, finance, project governance, reporting, strategic planning, and organisational improvements. In this role, you will lead an integrated and cohesive project planning process, emphasising divisional accountabilities while ensuring robust stakeholder engagement throughout.

You will be operating in a dynamic environment with constant competing priorities, you will prioritise effectively to support timely project delivery and completion, while consistently executing day-to-day responsibilities within required timeframes. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Guide and coordinate the division’s project planning process, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives.
  • Translate divisional strategies and plans into meaningful performance targets, providing regular reporting and assurance for senior management.
  • Provide advice, technical expertise, and operational support on a wide range of project matters, including finance, procurement, and governance.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across the division to ensure collaboration, transparency, and accountability throughout project delivery.
  • Manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment, supporting timely project execution while maintaining day-to-day operational effectiveness.

About you

You will have experience in either development or delivery of:

  • Rail infrastructure
  • Bus infrastructure
  • Maritime infrastructure
  • Rail Infrastructure

You will develop strategic relationships and provide expert advice to influence key decisions, support initiatives, and clarify accountability across the division. You will offer both strategic and tactical guidance to respond to emerging business priorities and broader agency initiatives, acting as an initial point of contact for inquiries while managing requests for information, redirecting or escalating sensitive issues as needed.

You will foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that inspires trust, innovation, learning, and inclusivity, promoting a culture of creativity and collaboration that advances core business objectives.

Additionally, you will provide guidance and professional development support to the team, represent their perspectives to senior management and internal stakeholders during critical decision-making, and serve as an escalation point for complex issues, facilitating solutions and managing associated risks effectively.
