The Opportunity

Due to our sustained growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Minerals Processing Brownfields team located in Adelaide or Brisbane. If you're a self-motivated, results-driven individual passionate about leading and developing a mechanical engineering team, this role is for you.

Accountable for the effective delivery of projects from conceptual design through to detailed design, execution and commissioning. The Senior Project Manager aims to the highest level of quality, safety, environmental and technical requirements to deliver the quality, design integrity, operability and cost effectiveness objectives within the agreed cost and schedule constraints. The Senior Project Manager is accountable to for all aspects of a program delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Extensive and diverse knowledge of project management principles and practices to deliver a program or portfolio of jobs/projects/studies.
  • Co-ordinate multidiscipline engineering to deliver project objectives in line agreed with agreed, including management of the engineering schedule and budget
  • Develop Progress Reports including overseeing engineering status via cost and schedule monitoring (such as earned value buildup)
  • Develop or review proposals to ensure service quality and value in line with stakeholder needs.
  • Develop or review project deliverables details including project scope, execution methodology, capital cost estimates and overall project schedules.
  • Proactively manage client stakeholders
  • Lead effective meetings and represent the Company in communications pertaining to broad aspects of the project.
  • Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plan
  • Proactively manage cost, expectations and schedule within a robust framework.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders any concerns regarding approved cost or schedule constraints, including taking decisive actions to mitigate consequences.
  • Record, interpret and implement lesson learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, establish, and continuously improve project management standards, systems, and processes, including implementation of major changes

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in project management with demonstrated successful delivery of complex multidiscipline projects
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering consulting environment delivering Brownfield Projects in the field of Minerals Processing.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large multi-discipline teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing change due to shifting priorities, demands or timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in risk management, cost management and schedule management. Deep knowledge of the mineral processing, chemical or energy sectors, gained through a combination of office and site experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the commercial business environment and implications on project delivery.
  • Ability to successfully solve problems, conflicts, or challenges to deliver a projects.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills including negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution.
