Job Description

Position: SR. Project Manager (full-time, permanent)
Location: Various projects in North Central USA
Rotation: 3 weeks on, 1 week off
Schedule: 6 days on, 1 day off

Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Manager is a senior delivery leader supporting execution integration within a large-scale transmission construction program in the North Central United States.

This role plays a key coordinating function across construction execution and supporting project disciplines including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Commercial, Procurement and Project Controls. Working alongside the Construction Director and functional leads, the position helps ensure alignment between execution plans, governance requirements, and performance objectives across geographically distributed work fronts.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Project Manager contributes to execution planning, commercial awareness, risk identification, and stakeholder coordination while supporting overall project delivery objectives. This role is one of several leadership positions that collectively maintain integration and communication across the project organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATION

  • Support alignment between Construction, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Commercial, Procurement and Project Controls functions
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary planning and coordination sessions
  • Identify interface risks and support resolution activities
  • Promote clear communication across execution and functional groups
  • Assist in maintaining consistency between execution realities and functional expectations

EXECUTION ALIGNMENT & VISIBILITY

  • Maintain awareness of progress and performance across major scopes including Access, Foundations, Structures, and Line Work
  • Support coordination between Project Managers and functional leads
  • Assist with resolving execution conflicts across work fronts
  • Contribute to constructability and execution planning reviews
  • Highlight emerging risks or schedule impacts

FINANCIAL & COMMERCIAL COORDINATION

  • Support visibility into financial performance indicators across assigned scopes
  • Assist with alignment between execution conditions and cost forecasting
  • Support change management coordination and subcontract performance monitoring
  • Contribute to reporting and performance briefings

STAKEHOLDER & LEADERSHIP INTERFACE

  • Participate in coordination meetings and technical discussions
  • Support issue resolution involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain collaborative relationships across project teams

TEAM & ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Project Managers and Coordinators where appropriate
  • Promote collaboration across functional groups
  • Reinforce project leadership expectations
  • Support organizational communication and alignment

ACCOUNTABILITIES

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10–15+ years leadership experience in transmission, utility, infrastructure, or heavy civil construction
  • Experience working within large, multidisciplinary project organizations
  • Strong understanding of subcontract-driven execution environments
  • Demonstrated commercial and operational awareness
  • Experience coordinating across functional disciplines
  • Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an asset

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This position requires candidates to:

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain and maintain U.S. work authorization
  • Successfully complete pre-employment and site-specific drug and alcohol testing
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Complete background screening and criminal record checks as required
  • This is a site-based role operating on a rotational schedule. The anticipated rotation is three (3) weeks on / one (1) week off, working six (6) days on and one (1) day off (Sundays), with ten (10) hour workdays. Rotation and schedule are subject to project needs and construction sequencing, and flexibility to adjust during critical phases is required.

In accordance with Project/Work site and Client requirements, candidates may be required to undergo pre-access screening.
