MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering or related field required, or work experience.
  2. Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.)

  1. 5-year Project Management experience preferred
  2. Prior knowledge of cost control systems and experience in the use of computerized estimating, quantity takeoff and scheduling programs
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  4. Ability to read and thoroughly understand construction plans and specifications
  5. Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  6. Ability to problem solve and communicate corrective actions quickly and effectively
  7. Ability to work flexible schedules as project management demands fluctuate
  8. Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Review plans & proposal specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare detailed cost estimates, review sub quotes & material prices, financial forecasting, and prepare written proposals for portfolio of projects.
  2. Visit project sites to determine scope of work. Lead and ensure internal preconstruction meetings are thorough and effective.
  3. Provide any clarification on information submitted as needed.
  4. Provide project administrative management of projects.
  5. Coordinate with construction manager and field leadership, establishment of project objectives, procedures, schedules and performance requirements
  6. May provide indirect or direct supervision of field crew members/ foreman or superintendents
  7. Maintain documentation of quantities and value of work estimate/ completed to support forecasting for future project performance
  8. Provide ongoing support to Construction/Operations for efficient and profitable execution of work including scheduling, procurement and change order/ supplemental work processes
  9. Monitor / Manage subcontractor’s work
  10. Partner with contract administrator to review and process financial aspects of contracts (ie: billings, subcontract payments, material payments, collections, etc.)
  11. Manage assigned projects that were successfully bid
  12. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  13. Always work safely and take action to prevent all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Strong organizational skills.
  3. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  4. Able to work independently and under time constraints.
