Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Office of the Ambulatory CMO is excited to build its initial team. We are looking for a Senior Project Lead that will support the team’s development of the initial project portfolio and be a part of the ground level of exciting and impactful initiatives. This role will report to the Ambulatory CMO’s Chief of Staff and work collaboratively with their team to drive industry best practices and an exceptional culture with humility, integrity, and enthusiasm.
As a key member of this growing team, the Senior Project Lead will play a strategic role in shaping and launching high-impact initiatives that enhance ambulatory care services across our health system. This position is ideal for a professional who brings both subject matter expertise and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset – especially in navigating complex, often ambiguous challenges. The role involves extensive engagement with stakeholders across the ambulatory care environment and throughout our health system at large—including clinical, operational, and administrative leaders—to align goals, surface insights, and drive meaningful outcomes. With a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Project Lead will lead the design and implementation of new programs and processes, applying sound judgment, analytical rigor, and a passion for building sustainable systems that support excellence and innovation in ambulatory care.
Key Responsibilities

  • Translate ambiguous or emerging operational challenges into structured project plans by defining scope, identifying the stakeholders, and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional project teams while monitoring progress and resolving issues during implementation.
  • Independently develop reports, proposals, and executive briefings to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Oversee project progress from initiation through completion, including stakeholder communication, system coordination, and vendor engagement as needed. Ensure all materials intended for senior stakeholders are submitted in a near-final, executive-ready state.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate project risks and dependencies while ensuring timely resolution; reliably action decisions once made.
  • Develop and maintain project resources such as project charters, process maps, RASCI charts, stakeholder briefings, and project tracking tools.
  • Serve as a liaison to senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Provide guidance to leadership and stakeholders on project scope, implementation strategies, and performance measurement.
  • Design and advocate for solutions to operational challenges, including the development of new processes, workflows, policies, or systems.
  • Research and integrate industry best practices to support continuous improvement and scalable solutions.
  • Propose, lead, and/or participate in strategy, planning, and policy committees or working groups related to assigned initiatives.
