In this role, you'll:


Working within our Engineering and Maintenance Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of our Senior Project Engineer is to take responsibility to provide planning, engineering, and/or site construction support for projects.


You will also provide technical advice to support the successful delivery of projects, and mentor and share knowledge to build the technical capability of the Project Engineering & Support team.


Working as part of a team you will be overseeing the maintenance, renewal and construction of Civil infrastructure in the rail corridor. The Track & Civil portfolio has an annual value of $400m.

About you


You will work alongside experienced project managers and construction teams to resolve issues, meet technical specifications, uphold safety standards, and ensure all work is completed to time and quality expectations.


You’ll be helping to deliver infrastructure that directly improves reliability and service for Sydney Trains customers.


You will also provide technical advice to support the successful delivery of projects throughout the network, and mentor and share knowledge to build the technical capability of the Project Engineering & Support team.


You will analyse drawings and associated design and project documentation for technical accuracy and suitability.


You will also coordinate with project teams to ensure assessment of safety in design and constructability reviews and participate in the evaluation of tenders with respect to established specifications, ensuring the technical merits of all tenders are carefully assessed in the selection of a suitable tender.


This is a Full Time Fixed term position, ending on the 11th December 2026.
