About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join UGL's Capital Projects team supporting the ATOM terminal network.

Working across a portfolio of modification and improvement projects, you will manage projects through the entire lifecycle, from initial concept and scoping through to execution and close out. You'll be responsible for developing project scopes, preparing cost estimates, securing client approvals, coordinating resources and maintaining project delivery performance across multiple sites.

Managing approximately 8-10 projects annually, this role offers a mix of office-based project management and occasional site travel, with overnight travel required approximately once every two months.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, influencing project outcomes and delivering critical infrastructure projects within the energy, industrial or utilities sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead project scoping, definition and development for capital modification and improvement projects across the ATOM terminal network

Prepare project execution plans, cost estimates, schedules and resource requirements, presenting recommendations and business cases to clients

Manage project delivery to achieve safety, scope, quality, budget and schedule objectives

Build collaborative relationships with ATOM, BP, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes

Monitor project risks, progress and commercial performance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

About You

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, collaborate and build trusted relationships

Electrical engineering experience or exposure to electrical infrastructure projects will be highly regarded

Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield capital projects within oil & gas, fuel terminals, water treatment, heavy industry, petrochemical, mining or similar industrial environments

Strong capability in project planning, cost estimation, scheduling and stakeholder management

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
