Job Description

Our client, a leading contractor in the Construction sector, is currently seeking a Senior Engineer for a large-scale pharmaceutical fit-out project based in Athenry, Galway This role will be central to the successful delivery of the project, ensuring all engineering activities are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and design teams to coordinate technical aspects of the build. The preferred candidate will have strong experience in pharmaceutical or cleanroom environments, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead engineering teams on complex projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the technical delivery of the pharmaceutical fit-out project from design through to commissioning.
• Coordinate with design consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure engineering requirements are met.
• Review and approve technical submittals, drawings, and specifications.
• Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
• Lead problem-solving efforts and provide engineering solutions to on-site challenges.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Report regularly to the Project Manager on progress, risks, and technical issues.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project engineering role, ideally within the pharmaceutical or cleanroom sector.
• Strong understanding of GMP standards and cleanroom protocols.
• Proven ability to manage technical aspects of large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland and availability for an Athenry-based role.
