Senior Project Engineer

Position Title & Basic Details

We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer based in Toronto, Canada. This is an 18-month contract position requiring 10+ years of relevant experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing large-scale capital projects from concept through commissioning in a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in project management and thrives in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project scoping, design, and execution for capital initiatives.

• Oversee installation of new processing and/or packaging equipment.

• Coordinate with third-party vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Manage RFP processes, including bid evaluation and vendor selection.

• Support installation, commissioning, and startup activities.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Technical Expertise: Strong background in managing engineering projects; familiarity with capital equipment and plant-based projects is a plus.

• Experience: Minimum 10 years working on capital projects within manufacturing, preferably in Food & Beverage or similar environments.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure or utility upgrades.

• Familiarity with packaging systems (fillers, palletizers, etc.) is a plus.
