About the role:

Our South East Queensland (SEQ) Project Delivery Track & Civil team are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis based in the Brisbane CBD.

The successful applicant will provide project management services, on-site co-ordination and interface management of infrastructure projects ensuring compliance with Queensland Rail's Management Systems in the areas of safety, environment, quality and costs.

Current projects include culvert renewal, rail bridge replacement, embankment stabilisation, and other structure and civil related infrastructure renewal within network.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering aspects of major rail infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and assurance on design, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, budgets and compliance with relevant engineering standards and safety requirements.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency in project delivery.

In addition to the skills and experience required to deliver on the key responsibilities, we are seeking:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia).
  • A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence.
  • Site based project engineering experience.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Positive attitude and willing to learn.
  • Railway track construction experience would also be highly desirable.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, standard business hours.
  • Currently we offer work from home (WFH) one day a week.
  • Regular opportunity for weekend/outside hours work, currently at least one weekend per month. At times nights are required, OT/penalty rates apply.
