We are looking for a skilled Project Engineer to ensure successful execution of Valmet’s automation projects by applying strong engineering competence and delivering high‑quality solutions to our customers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure smooth definition, implementation, testing, installation, and commissioning of Valmet’s Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
You will become an expert in DCS application engineering, system integration, FAT/SAT activities, and site commissioning, supporting project success from start to finish while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in project planning with the Project Manager, including project goals, overall schedules, risk analysis, contingency planning, and installation checklists.
• Participate in the Definition Phase by understanding the technical scope defined in contracts, attending customer kick‑off meetings, collecting starting information, and preparing definition materials for customers and Sales Support.
• Implement and supervise application engineering, ensuring engineering quality as per agreed definition, initializing logistic orders, coordinating with other engineering teams, and conducting pre‑FAT inspections.
• Prepare project purchase proposals, FAT plans, attend customer FAT sessions, and secure FAT approvals.
• Manage engineering changes effectively and provide accurate progress reporting throughout project execution.
• Perform installation and commissioning of DCS systems at customer sites, participate in cold tests and water test runs, and implement required SW/HW modifications.
• Update project documentation including system drawings, ensure site safety compliance, provide progress reports to customers and Project Managers, and manage system handover.
• Collect customer comments and feedback for customer satisfaction assessment.
• Participate in the project‑to‑service transfer to ensure a smooth transition into the service lifecycle.
Requirements
• Engineering graduate (B.E.) in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 4–10 years of relevant experience in automation project engineering or execution.
• Experience in logic development, DCS engineering, or control system implementation.
• Added skills in Safety Systems are preferred.
• Strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Korea and overseas.
