INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Abu Dhabi office. This role is pivotal in advancing Process Automation Solutions across industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Renewable Energy. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will drive the execution of PLC/DCS automation projects, ensuring technical excellence and seamless project delivery. At INTECH, you will contribute to groundbreaking projects, leveraging expertise in Integrated Control Systems, SCADA Virtualization, Wellhead Automation to drive operational excellence and innovation.

What You’ll Lead and Deliver

  • Lead and manage project engineers, distributing tasks effectively and providing technical guidance for PLC, DCS, and ICSS projects.
  • Regularly verify project activities to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and integrity, and provide timely progress updates to the Project Manager.
  • Design DCS, PLC, HMI, and ICSS architectures and systems from scratch in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Review, verify, and approve engineering design documents, drawings, and technical deliverables with strong attention to detail.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and ICSS systems, including control, safety, and interlock logic.
  • Supervise the design and engineering of control panels, considering both electrical and mechanical aspects and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Participate in and supervise internal testing, integration testing, and simulation of PLC, DCS, and ICSS systems.
  • Oversee and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities, including preparation of test procedures, test execution, and client coordination.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of site engineers and site services teams, ensuring work is executed efficiently and in line with project scope, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Visit project sites as required to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, ensure adherence to HSE standards, and support commissioning and start-up activities.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Process industries
  • Strong hands-on experience with PLC, DCS, and ICSS systems, including design, programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with major control systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Yokogawa, Emerson DeltaV, or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of safety systems and standards, including IEC 61511 / IEC 61508 (SIS, ESD, F&G systems).
  • Proficiency in developing and reviewing control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, logic diagrams, and loop drawings
  • Experience in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and start-up support
  • Strong knowledge of HMI/SCADA design, industrial communication protocols, and network architecture
  • Familiarity with control panel design, instrumentation interfaces, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work independently on engineering deliverables while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle site issues under pressure during commissioning phases.
  • Good communication skills for client coordination, technical reporting, and team leadership.
  • OEM/TUV certification is a plus as well as experience in the UAE market.
  • A valid driving license is required; UAE driving license is preferred.
