About the Role

At Tate, the Senior Project Engineer is accountable for delivering complex, high-impact engineering projects that directly support safe operations, capacity, quality, and cost performance. This role leads capital projects and major improvements from concept through commissioning, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production.

The Senior Project Engineer is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, applying sound engineering judgment and a strong ownership mindset. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, safety, and leadership, and serves as a technical leader and mentor within the engineering organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead capital projects and major engineering initiatives from scope development through installation, startup, and handoff to operations
  • Develop project charters, cost estimates, schedules, and execution plans aligned with plant and business priorities
  • Serve as the technical lead for equipment selection, system design, layouts, and manufacturing process improvements
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, safety, quality, and supply chain
  • Manage external engineering firms, contractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure safe, on-schedule, and on-budget execution
  • Ensure projects meet Tate safety standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Support plant layout changes, equipment relocations, line modifications, and facility upgrades
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and hazard analysis
  • Drive startup, commissioning, and operational handoff to ensure reliable and repeatable performance
  • Identify and resolve technical and execution risks before they impact operations
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to plant leadership
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to project engineers and other engineering team members

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field)
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing and/or fabrication environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading capital projects with full responsibility for scope, cost, and schedule
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, and facility infrastructure
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Solid working knowledge of safety standards and industrial codes (OSHA, NFPA, NEC, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable spending time on the plant floor and supporting off-shift work during critical project phases
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Experience with CAD software or electrical design tools is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Work Environment: This is a full-time position with a combination of office work and frequent interaction with manufacturing operations. Travel (50% - 60%) will be required to various divisional sites, supplier locations, or customer facilities.
