Job Description

Senior Project Director, Nordics & Benelux

The role at a glance

This role is crucial within the media practice across Nordics & Benelux. You will help develop, initiate, implement and follow up on strategically important projects across the markets. The aim is twofold: 1) drive additional revenue and increase efficiency, 2) increase competitiveness across all markets.

As this is a multi-market role it is expected to be able to read the signals in the organisation, act on both internal and external insight, and bring focus areas forward for sign-off rather than waiting to be told what is important.

Priorities are agreed with the CEO of dentsu Denmark & the media practice lead.

What you’ll own

1. Governance and structure

  • Creates a strong governance model for the media practice across Nordics & Benelux.
  • Incorporates the growth community and practice leadership into the governance structure
  • Recommends and decides the overall strategic priorities for the media practice together with CEO dentsu Denmark
  • Aligns strategic priorities to the global media++ strategy with market break-down.
  • Creates a partner program with key media partners
  • Acts as orchestrator and point of contact for international and cross-market pitches with media/media++
  • Drives local succession planning within the media practice, together with Market CEOs and HR
  • Structures and drives knowledge sharing across the cluster

2. Strategic partnership

  • Drives the practice community forward in a collaborative way, aligned to the goals that have been set
  • Shares and cascades global and cluster information
  • Shares and deploys Global Craft and other practice-relevant training to ensure participation in support of the brand proposition

3. Projects and commercials

  • Owns and drives 2-3 strategic projects across the cluster

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of media agency experience with real depth within client management and digital understanding
  • Experience with multi-market clients or projects is beneficial
  • A track record of owning a project end-to-end – not just feeding into someone else’s.
  • Experience with multiple stakeholders – maybe across markets
  • Comfortable with the main commercial dynamics – P&L, billable hours and client commercials – in a professional services or media/agency context
  • Fluent Danish and English, written and spoken

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in media, advertising, communications, digital agency or another creative-services business
  • Hands-on with PowerPoint and project management tools

What success looks like

In the first year, success means the practice is running to a clear governance model and delivering measurable results across the markets. Concretely:

  • Within three months, a governance model for the media practice is agreed and operating across Nordics & Benelux.
  • Strategic priorities are set with the CEO and aligned to the global media++ strategy, with a clear market break-down.
  • 2-3 strategic cross-cluster projects are underway, each with named owners, milestones and success metrics.
  • Within twelve months, measurable revenue growth and efficiency gains are delivered across the markets.
  • A partner program with key media partners is live and adding value.
  • Competitiveness visibly improves through stronger pitches and better client outcomes.
  • Knowledge sharing and succession planning run to a steady cadence, with clear, regular reporting to the media lead and Market CEOs.

How you show up

  • You like being close to the business and people within – not adjacent to it
  • You drive the agenda. Hands-on, but you keep your head up and look ahead
  • Ambiguity doesn’t spook you. You take strategy and turn it into concrete plans with owners and dates
  • You measure your work by what changed in the business – revenue, cost, competitiveness – not by hours logged
  • You take real ownership of the agendas you carry
  • You’re trusted by leaders to deliver tough feedback and bring genuine strategic insight
  • You shape the agenda – you don’t wait for it to land in your inbox
  • You’re curious about AI and lean into it

Who you’ll work with

  • Denmark CEO & media lead Nordics & Benelux and Exec team.
  • Cluster leadership
  • Media practice leads in each market
  • Senior specialists from each market
