Could you be the full-time Senior Project Contract Manager in Sofia, Bulgaria we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your contract and project management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, professional, and dedicated teammates.

You'll provide guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Alstom’s business objectives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as project management, engineering, industrial, quality, and various support functions), ensuring proper record-keeping and robust claim file preparation, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of defining claim strategies and implementing contract management tools, but also supporting delay analysis and collaborating with sourcing teams for pass-through claims.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Implementing contract management tools and processes, including correspondences, notifications, insurances, EoT claims, and variation requests/orders.
  • Ensuring timely execution of Contract Management Strategy Plans and Contract Management Days.
  • Coordinating and animating the Cluster’s/Country’s Contract Management community.
  • Proactively identifying risks, proposing alternative solutions, and defining claim strategies for critical projects.
  • Supporting projects in performing accurate risk assessments and determining risk appetite.
  • Providing transparent reporting on claim status and strategies to management.
  • Driving proactive contract management within the Cluster/Country.
  • Supporting delay analysis and assisting Finance in claim cost presentations.
  • Collaborating with Sourcing for supplier-related claims and providing ad-hoc tender support to Legal.
  • Developing claim preparation, strategies, and roadmaps to protect the Cluster/Country P&L.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics, or Business Sciences.
  • Postgraduate in Management or Master of Business Administration (MBA) – is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience working in infrastructure projects in contract management, project legal, project management, or project finance roles.
  • Experience in industrial sectors, preferably in the railway business, oil & gas, or other construction-related fields.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Fluency in a second language (e.g., French) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, relationship-building, and consensus-building skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide early warnings for unforeseen problems and take timely corrective actions.
  • Capability to identify critical tasks and implement mitigation/remedy plans effectively.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.
  • Work with new safety and security standards for rail traffic management.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects.
  • Utilise our dynamic, friendly, and flexible working environment.
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.
  • Progress towards Safety Assurance Management or other projects/teams.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
