Senior Project Assistant / Project Assistant (25260655)

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences comprises four well-established academic units: the Academy of Chinese, History, Religion and Philosophy (CHRP); Academy of Geography, Sociology and International Studies (GSIS); Academy of Language and Culture (LAC); and Academy of Wellness and Human Development (WHD). As one of the major faculties at HKBU, the Faculty is committed to advancing the University’s overarching vision, with a strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.

The Academy of Wellness and Human Development (WHD) integrates the strengths and expertise of three dynamic departments: the Department of Education and Psychology (EDPY), the Department of Sports and Health Sciences (SHS), and the Department of Social Work (SOWK). The Academy is dedicated to advancing knowledge and nurturing talent in areas vital to human well-being and holistic development through innovative transdisciplinary research and thoughtfully designed academic programmes. The Academy’s mission aims to prepare students to become skilled practitioners, compassionate educators, insightful researchers, and proactive leaders capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

The Academy of Wellness and Human Development is seeking highly motivated and experienced candidates to provide administrative support for the following duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Supervisor(s) with administration duties related to general office operations and academic programmes, including but not limited to student admissions, curriculum and quality assurance matters, course enrollment, accreditation exercises, etc.;
  • Handle various proposals, applications, and reimbursement;
  • Collect and check various data for reports;
  • Provide secretarial support to difference committees, including minutes taking and proposal drafting; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Proficiency in computer skills (e.g. word processing, excel and PowerPoint);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required;
  • Highly self‑motivated, with strong initiative, have a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Able to work independently and in a team under pressure; and
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered as Senior Project Assistant.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Notes:

  • Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a written assessment; and
  • Occasional travel to the Chinese Mainland is required.
