We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Project Advisorto join our Strategy Group within the Digital Services (DS) Branch. The Digital Services Branch supports the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) and Deputy GCDO within the Department of Internal Affairs to lead the development of shared digital process and infrastructure for government.

The Strategy Group develops strategy for digital government that positions the government to be responsive in a changing digital age and supports the Branch to engage across the public and private sectors to deliver that strategy.

In this role, you will leverage your programme delivery experience to advance the Public Service Artificial Intelligence work programme. This includes expanding AI use across government, promoting coordinated digital investment and procurement, and enabling integrated services throughout government.

Your key responsibilities may include:

• Support the Programme Lead in developing and maintaining delivery plans, including schedules, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure successful execution of AI initiatives.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting on project progress, preparing status updates, dashboards, and risk assessments to enable informed decision-making by the Programme Lead.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and delivery teams on behalf of the Programme Lead, ensuring alignment to priorities, resolving issues, and escalating risks when required.
• Contribute to governance and assurance activities, preparing documentation, facilitating reviews, and ensuring compliance with programme standards and investment requirements.

The key skills and capabilities required for this position include:

• Demonstrated expertise in managing and implementing extensive, complex all-of-government digital, technology and data programmes and initiatives.
• Project Management experience, including project finance and business case development
• Understanding of project standards, agile practices and experience in tailoring these to ensure agility and flexibility.
• Skills in developing and maintaining best-practices, procedures, tools, and templates, conducting project analysis, developing continuous improvement action plans.
