YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Project Accountant on our team, you are part of the Global Project Accounting team and will report to the Manager, Project Accounting based in Costa Rica. In this critical role, you will make a significant contribution to the “engine” of project accounting through the enhancement of project accounting systems and processes, assisting with month-end close activities, and other special project designed to drive efficiencies and scalability while ensuring effective policy and control. The ideal candidate will be a team player and have a solid operational and project accounting background. You will be empowered to take ownership of projects to drive results.

In your daily job you will:

• PA Management: Manage the end-to-end Project Accounting process for assigned Wind River service projects, including project set-up, maintenance, and regular review of project progress, P&L performance and budgets to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
• Accounting: Support related month-end and quarter-end close activities, including revenue recognition, accurate accrual calculations, reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting
• FP&A & Forecasting: Contribute to the PS revenue and contractor expense forecasts activities. Partner closely with FP&A, manage comprehensive project P&Ls for key projects, maintain regular communications with PMs, and provide variance analysis.
• Services Partner: Work closely with project managers to support project change management, complex project structures, and operational project challenges
• Billings: Assist with the preparation, review, and monitor variances against the

Professional Services billing forecast. Ensure project invoices are accurate, approved, and sent on time

• Compliance & Audits: Help maintain a strong control environment that is compliant with company policies and accounting standards

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
• At least 5+ years of progressive project accounting experience or related accounting or finance roles
• In collaboration with the Manager, Project Accounting establish priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently, and execute objectives, under supervision where required.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities to collaborate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders; constructive and solution-oriented mindset
• Energetic, hands-on, and resourceful self-starter who can partner with all levels and functions of the company with a consultative and collaborative approach.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to translate financial data into high-level summaries with actionable insights
• Deep understanding of T&M, fixed fee, and milestone based professional service project structures
• High proficiency with MS Excel and deep familiarity with Oracle (PA module) and PS automation tools is preferred
