Position Senior Programme Leader

Location: North West Auckland, covering Waimauku, Taupaki, Mātua Ngaru, Riverhead, Coatesville and surrounding areas. The role will also require occasional work from our sKids Support Office in Wairau, Glenfield

About the role,

As the Senior Programme Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our out-of-school care sites. You will be responsible for leading a cluster of up to 9 siteswithin your portfolioto deliver high-quality programmes, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, and leading a team of dedicated staff. Your leadership will drive operational excellence and ensure that our services meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Delivery: Lead the effective day-to-day delivery of our care programmes, ensuring engaging and educational activities for all children.
  • Safety Assurance: Ensure the safety of all tamariki in our programme, adhering strictly to sKids' systems and procedures.
  • Staff-to-Children Ratios: Maintain appropriate staff-to-children ratios at all times and be in ratio when necessary to support programme activities. You may be required to check your phone each Sunday to ensure no staff are unable to work on Monday and organise cover where necessary.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement and oversee the adoption of operational policies, procedures, and systems to consistently deliver high-quality service.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage your sites effectively, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to best practices.
  • Staff Management: Coach and train programme staff to foster a motivated and capable team.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all necessary resources are in place for the programme, in line with the budget plan. Prepare, plan and oversee rosters for a cluster of sites ensuring alignment with programme requirements.
  • Incident Reporting: Oversee the reporting and recording of all incidents and accidents, ensuring that staff are well-versed in protocols and systems.

Qualifications

What we are looking for,

  • Minimum 2 years experience including a leadership role within a childcare or educational setting.
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand (valid visa or citizenship)
  • Strong understanding of out-of-school care programmes and relevant safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational, administration and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to work full time without restrictions.
  • Ability to build excellent relationships with all stakeholders
