We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Programme and Project Services Manager (contract basis through to end-2028)

HSBC is seeking a Senior Programme and Project Services Manager to support Project Sirena, a complex end-to-end transformation programme, from design through implementation and embedding. You’ll be a key member of a team driving delivery across technology, regulatory and operating model change, ensuring strong governance, disciplined controls, and measurable outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.This is a senior leadership role for an ambitious, high-performing change leader who thrives in ambiguity, influences at the highest levels, and delivers at pace with rigour.

In this role you will:

  • Develop programme execution plans and drive outcomes: Drive execution plan, workstream planning and governance artefacts, including executive updates and programme reporting aligned to HSBC strategy and governance.
  • Executive leadership and governance: Lead steering forums and executive updates; create clear decision pathways; escalate risks, issues and trade-offs with pace and clarity.
  • Integrated planning and controls: Drive integrated plans across workstreams, dependencies, critical path, RAID, delivery assurance, and financial controls.
  • Support complex transformation delivery: Support large-scale global/regional programmes (technology, regulatory, restructuring and/or operating model change) with strong delivery discipline, providing direction, guidance and support as appropriate to maintain quality and pace.
  • Operating model & business architecture: Drive cross-functional workshops to translate business drivers into future-state operating models aligned to architecture and technology strategy.
  • Drive cross-workstream execution: Hold workstream leads accountable; remove blockers; resolve conflicts across Business, Risk, Finance, Technology and Operations.
  • Senior stakeholder influence: Ensure that senior leaders are updated regularly, supporting outcomes, including escalations as appropriate. Responsible for regular cost reporting and monthly MI tracking against Targets
  • Change adoption and embedding: Sponsor adoption, operational readiness and benefits tracking to ensure sustainable implementation.
  • Risk, control and compliance leadership: Ensure robust risk/control management aligned to HSBC taxonomy and governance expectations.
  • Agile delivery leadership: Champion Agile and iterative delivery at scale with appropriate enterprise governance, cadence and transparency.
  • Onshore/offshore leadership: Drive operational effectiveness across mixed-location teams; travel as required for key workshops and milestones.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience working on large-scale, complex transformation programmes end-to-end (global/regional).
  • Strong track record delivering regulatory and/or technology change, with clear understanding of operating model impacts.
  • Proven ability of working with cross-functional, multi-location teams with accountability for delivery, budget, risk and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated customer engagement mindset, with the ability to understand client needs, shape outcomes and communicate value clearly.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal and influencing skills, including engagement with senior executives and steering committees.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and change control discipline (scope/schedule/budget) skills, including formal governance.
  • Broad, enterprise-wide view of the organisation and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, capabilities, enabling technologies and governance.
  • Strong risk and control capability, including identification, ownership, management and reporting aligned to HSBC taxonomy.
  • Degree (or equivalent practical experience). Certifications such as PMP / Change Management / Six Sigma are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HSBC’s ways of working, values and governance frameworks is beneficial; knowledge of DAP, Value Stream leadership and FSA, expert-level Agile/iterative delivery experience, applied within enterprise governance, are advantageous.
