Job Description
Company:
Job Area:
Engineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group > Program Management
General Summary:
The CHS (Central Hardware System) Operations team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to lead hardware and module product development programs from concept through high-volume manufacturing. This person will own end-to-end program execution across global, cross-geo teams — driving schedules, milestones, builds, and supplier readiness — and serve as the connective tissue between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external CM/ODM/OEM partners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, makes sound judgment calls under changing requirements, and consistently delivers milestones on time, on cost, and on quality.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead module and hardware product development programs end to end — planning, execution, tracking, and on-time delivery.
- Generate, maintain, and drive integrated project schedules; define scope, timeline, milestones, interdependencies, and resource planning.
- Provide operations leadership and consultation to functional teams across the program; serve as the connective tissue between program management, engineering, finance, and supplier-facing teams
- Own end-to-end management of program milestones, change requests, and risks
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across hardware, software, mechanical, validation, manufacturing, supply chain, and chipset teams to deliver milestones on time.
- Drive EVT/DVT/PVT build execution and issue resolution; make judgment calls on engineering changes and builds under changing requirements.
- Ensure PWB/PCB tape-out and sample delivery on schedule; track engineering changes and ensure proper implementation across the build cycle.
- Partner closely with suppliers, internal/external manufacturing facilities, and CM/ODM/OEM partners to ensure manufacturability, readiness, and seamless hardware delivery to the design team.
- Manage program risks and issues; establish mitigation, recovery, and contingency plans and drive them to closure.
- Monitor program cost, schedule, and quality targets; manage logistics, Capex, Opex, and shipments related to hardware, and support associated documentation.
- Establish a regular communication cadence — status updates, schedule trends, risk reviews, and recovery actions — for management and stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver executive presentations on program status, risks, and issues with clear mitigation plans for upper management and cross-functional groups.
- Represent CHS Operations to senior leadership (Director / VP audience) — produce executive briefings, gate review packages, and quarterly business reviews.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in hardware/module product development or program management.
- Strong understanding of the hardware product development lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT), from design through production.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional engineering teams in complex, multi-site, integrated (HW + FW + SW) development programs.
- Familiarity with electronics, PCB, package, or module-level design and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving and risk management skills, with the ability to make sound judgment calls on changes and builds.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills across multiple teams, geographies, and cultures.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple programs simultaneously.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Qualcomm platforms or module/package-level hardware design.
- Familiarity with the ODM/OEM development model and experience coordinating overseas suppliers.
- PMP certification or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with global teams and overseas suppliers across time zones.
Education Requirements
