Job Title: Senior Program Manager

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross‑functional programs that drive strategic business outcomes. This role oversees multiple related projects, aligns stakeholders, manages risks, and ensures delivery against scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. The Senior Program Manager acts as a trusted partner to leadership, translating strategy into executable plans.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end‑to‑end program planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery across multiple interdependent projects.
  • Define program objectives, success metrics, scope, timelines, budgets, and governance structures.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Partner with senior leaders, business owners, and cross‑functional teams to align program goals with organizational strategy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for program status, risks, and escalations.
  • Prepare and present executive‑level reports, dashboards, and reviews.

Strategy & Planning

  • Translate strategic initiatives into actionable roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Identify dependencies, constraints, and trade‑offs across initiatives.
  • Continuously assess program value and recommend optimizations or course corrections.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure stakeholder adoption and readiness.
  • Manage scope changes through structured change control processes.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking.
  • Optimize resource allocation across projects and teams.
  • Ensure vendor and partner deliverables meet contractual and performance expectations.

Governance & Process Improvement

  • Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, artifacts, and cadences.
  • Drive consistency in program management best practices and methodologies.
  • Mentor project and program managers; promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred

Experience

  • 8–12+ years of experience in program and/or project management
  • Proven track record managing large, complex, cross‑functional programs
  • Experience working with senior leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Experience in agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills without direct authority
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
  • Strong financial, analytical, and risk management capabilities
  • Proficiency with program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps)

Preferred Certifications

  • PMP®, PgMP®, or PRINCE2®
  • SAFe®, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications
  • Prosci or Change Management certification (preferred)
