Job Posting Description

  • Managing day-to-day program activities and daily operations of one or more programs or centers. Developing new programs, processes or systems for manager review to address new or revised of program goals and objectives as assigned. Reviewing recommendations with manager and developing new procedures for final review.
  • Providing technical advice and problem solving assistance related to program goals and objectives; escalating requests to other resources as needed.
  • Coordinating evaluation of program effectiveness. Generating periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies. Reviewing and analyzing reports, assessing trends or changes. Developing recommendations for discussion.
  • Participating in discussions and pertaining to program; updating manager or director appropriately. Calling manager’s attention to trends or changes and may recommend programmatic changes. Developing agreed to recommendations.
  • Coordinating and leading recruitment efforts that may include reviews of applications, interviews and orientation.
  • Composing written communication and promotional literature for program and department. May plan workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.
  • Interacting and liaising with staff, faculty and outside/community agencies to facilitate meeting the program objectives.
  • Supporting the Nursing Science Fellowship (basic overview of fellowship below)
    • To provide a structured program of clinical inquiry scholarship and its use in advancing nursing science
    • Experience will include collaboration with nurse scientists, administrator leaders, and other staff engaged in clinical inquiry
    • Fellow will participate in Quality Improvement Science, Evidence-Based Practice, and Research Projects

Required Experience

  • An Associate's degree plus 5 plus years of relevant experience, preferably with prior program coordinator experience. A Bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field required may substitute for two years of experience. A Master’s degree in public health or related field is preferred.
  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to solve complex problems in the areas of clinical/research operations, business planning, financial management, marketing, personnel and information systems management
  • Work requires ability to command respect, conflict resolution skills, organizational skills and ability to think independently
  • Work requires the ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies


Preferred Qualifications

  • The ability to effectively coordinate the activities of employees within assigned unit/department.
  • The ability to facilitate tasks and projects with a variety of both internal and external key players.
  • The ability to deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair and workable solutions.
  • Experience with REDCap databases.
  • Technically competent with various software programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Proficiency in and/or desire to learn statistical software packages (R, SAS, SPSS, etc) for research data.
  • Knowledge of ICH GCPs guidelines.
