The Ministry Services Division provides enterprise-wide support services for Energy and Minerals and ensures alignment with and adherence to related Government of Alberta-wide policy and direction.
The Professional and Program Services (PPS) Branch provides scientific and technical services to Alberta Energy and Minerals (and other Departments at times) to facilitate the development of policy and delivery of programs in a strategic and integrated manner across the Government of Alberta. It is the Energy and Minerals’ nucleus of professional engineers and geologists, mapping expertise and program specialists, which are grouped into four areas: (i) Resource Mapping and Analysis, (ii) Engineering, (iii) Geology, and (iv) Program Design, Implementation and Monitoring (PDIM).
The Program Design, Implementation and Monitoring (PDIM) Unit within the Professional and Program Services Branch ensures Alberta’s energy and mineral resources are responsibly developed by designing programs, tracking performance, and ensuring initiatives align with provincial goals for economic growth, environmental protection, and regulatory efficiency. This work supports Alberta’s position as a major global energy producer while adapting to shifting markets and technologies. For new programs, PDIM leads their development, monitors and tracks their performance. For existing programs, PDIM tracks and reports their performance to report to Albertans.
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to resource development initiatives within the Professional and Program Services (PPS) Branch? This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs that support Alberta’s energy sector and economic diversification, including initiatives such as the Alberta Petrochemicals Incentive Program (APIP), Alberta Carbon Capture Incentive Program (ACCIP), and other resource development programs.
Reporting to the Manager, Resource Programs, the Senior Program Analyst supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of resource development programs that advance Alberta Energy and Minerals priorities. The role requires strong analytical capability, collaboration, and communication to ensure program standards, processes, and recommendations are developed efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with departmental and divisional objectives.
