We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Production support Engineer to support the Equities and Security Lending businesses. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our trading platforms. You will apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to proactively manage system health, drive operational excellence, and collaborate closely with senior traders, developers, and cross-functional teams to optimize front-to-back workflows. As a Senior Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining platform availability, resolving complex issues, and championing automation and observability initiatives. Your ability to communicate effectively across business and technology stakeholders, and operate under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment will be critical to success.

What You’ll Do
Ensure the stability, availability, and resilience of the trading platform through proactive monitoring, observability, and operational oversight
Lead and contribute hands-on to production support activities, driving SRE best practices, platform reliability, and TOIL reduction
Serve as the subject matter expert for users and stakeholders, providing timely support, incident management, and clear communications
Investigate, resolve, and prevent application and infrastructure issues through root cause analysis, postmortems, and strategic follow-up actions
Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives, including self-healing capabilities, process optimization, and operational efficiency enhancements
Act as a production gatekeeper, partnering with developers, analysts, and project teams to support deployments, platform enhancements, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities
Skills You’ll Need
Extensive experience in Production Support, SRE, or DevOps within financial services or trading environments
Strong technical expertise in Linux/Unix, SQL, scripting, and programming languages such as Python or Java
Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident management tools, with a focus on platform reliability and performance
Knowledge of APIs, messaging technologies, distributed systems, cloud platforms, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) practices
Understanding of trading systems and trade lifecycle concepts, combined with strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaborative problem-solving skills

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
Demonstrated ability to lead major incident response efforts, prioritize effectively under pressure, and drive issues through to resolution in a fast-paced trading environment
Strong focus on continuous improvement, with the ability to identify automation opportunities, reduce operational toil, and improve platform reliability and resilience
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $153,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
