Job Description

Nuclear fuel reliability isn't abstract — it powers homes, hospitals, and entire communities. As the Production Quality Manager for GE Vernova's Fuel Component Operations (FCO), you will lead the team that makes sure every component we manufacture meets the highest standards in one of the world's most regulated industries. This is a senior leadership role with real accountability: 15 direct reports, a cross-functional scope, and direct engagement with customers and regulators. If you are energized by building quality cultures, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and leading people who take pride in getting it right, this role was made for you.

This is a fully onsite position.

What You'll Do

As a People Leader, you will own the quality function for FCO end-to-end — from strategy to shop floor — while developing the team, the systems, and the culture that sustain it.

  • Lead and develop a team of 15 quality professionals, including Quality Control, Inspection, and Quality Records functions — setting direction, building capability, and fostering a strong Nuclear Safety Culture and inclusive, engaged team environment.
  • Own the FCO quality strategy and program execution, ensuring all products and processes meet contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements — including US and international nuclear quality obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvementby implementing Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Quality at the Source, and mistake-proofing methods; monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and lead effectiveness reviews to drive measurable progress.
  • Serve as the primary quality interfacefor customer and regulatory audits, product and process qualifications, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, engineering, and business teams.
  • Champion lean manufacturing principlesand participate visibly in lean and observation programs; oversee the ongoing evolution of training, self-assessment, and surveillance programs to maximize workforce capability.
  • Manage the quality operating budgetin alignment with overall business objectives and P&L (Profit & Loss) priorities.

Who We're Looking For

You are a quality leader who combines technical depth with the ability to build trust — with your team, your customers, and your regulators. You are equally comfortable reviewing a quality procedure and standing in front of a regulatory audit team.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field — orequivalent professional experience in a quality, manufacturing, or nuclear services environment
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in quality, technical, manufacturing, operations, or nuclear services
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant industry or military experience in at least one of the following:
    • Working within a certified nuclear quality management system
    • A Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) role
    • Military or industrial experience with equivalent quality oversight responsibilities

> A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant science or engineering field is beneficial, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in a relevant science or engineering field
  • Working knowledge of nuclear quality system requirements, including 10 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Part 50 Appendix B, NQA-1 (Nuclear Quality Assurance), and 10 CFR Part 21
  • Experience engaging directly with customer or regulatory leadership
  • Familiarity with metal forming or machining processes (e.g., tubing mills, cold pilger rolling, milling, drilling, grinding, or EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining))
  • Demonstrated experience with data and statistical analysis in a manufacturing context
